Introductory Practitioner Certificate
Level 1 can be obtained from AUSCAN, Maritime Play Therapy Center, the Canadian Association for Play Therapy, The Sandtray Academy, and INA Play Therapy . If you took a sandtray training from another provider please contact maritimeptc@gmail.com to share your workshop outline. Look to the courses page to see when these course are occurring.
Levels 2 and 3 are offered live and synchronous online. These courses are scheduled for 2025 online in Australia and online /face to face in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Short asynchronous courses were available as part of the previous certificate but WASTP standards require all courts to be live either synchronous online or live face to face.
The requirements of Intermediate and Advanced Certificates will be released in 2026.
Supervision/ Consultation
Trainees also need to obtain Supervision that can be obtained individually or in a group with requires engaging in sandtray in accordance with skills practice
Final Paper
Trainees are to submit a final paper that reviews the sandtray competencies they possess and wish to obtain. They also need to create a 100 word document for certification with WASTP that outlines their primary influences in sand therapy.
An outline for these is provided during skills practice.
